Vegas NCAA Prediction: No 23 California at San Diego State

Coming off a rare home loss, San Diego State Aztecs aims for its eighth straight win against a Pac-12 opponent when it hosts No. 23 California. The Golden Bears have won three of the last five meetings against the Aztecs, but San Diego State won by 20 last year in Berkeley.
California Golden Bears will be without leading rebounder Richard Solomon, who was suspended indefinitely Friday for an unspecified violation of team rules.

The Aztecs have opened as Even-point favorites on SBG Global Sportsbook’s Live NCAA Basketball Odds.
California Golden Bears (6-1): Solomon, who started all of California’s seven games, was averaging 6.0 points and a team-high 7.3 rebounds per game. Freshman forward David Kravish is expected to start in Solomon’s place against the Aztecs. Four players average 10 points or more for the Golden Bears, including guard Jorge Gutierrez, who leads the team with 14.6 points, while grabbing 5.3 rebounds. Gutierrez, who scored a season-high 26 points in the team’s 73-57 win over McNeese State on Monday, has scored in double figures in all seven games. Allen Crabbe, the conference's freshman of the year in 2010, is averaging 14.3 points.
San Diego State Aztecs (7-2): No. 22 Creighton snapped San Diego State’s 27-game non-conference home winning streak with an 85-83 victory on Wednesday. Point guard Xavier Thames led the Aztecs with 21 points and six assists. Thames’s backcourt partner, Chase Tapley, is the team’s lone returning starter. Tapley leads the Aztecs in scoring (16.3) and steals (2.7). Forward Tim Shelton sat out Friday’s practice with leg injuries, but he’s expected to play against California. One of the top sixth men in the country, guard Jamaal Franklin is averaging 16.1 points and 5.5 rebounds.
1. San Diego State is 87-12 at home since the beginning of the 2005-06 season. Since 2009-10, the Aztecs are 33-3 at Viejas Arena.
2. After facing the Aztecs, California will play four straight games at Haas Pavilion to conclude its home non-conference schedule.
3. The Aztecs are 108-10 under coach Steve Fisher when their opponents score less than 60 points.
