Ryan Tannehill - Vegas Lines: Does Idaho Vandals Have Any Prayer at Texas A&M Aggies?

The Idaho Vandals (1-1) are one of the biggest underdogs on the board in Week 3 of the college football betting season with host No. 9 Texas A&M (1-0) a 36.5-point favorite on Bodog Sportsbook’s NCAA Vegas Lines against the WAC club. Can the Vandals possibly stay with the high-powered Aggies?

By the time kickoff arrives, the Aggies could officially be members of the SEC as that off-field drama plays out in a tug of war between the SEC and Big 12. Texas A&M has had an extra week to prepare for this one as it has been off since an impressive opening 46-14 win over SMU. Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill completed 21 of 26 passes for 246 yards and two touchdowns. Cyrus Gray led Texas’ ground attack against SMU with 132 total yards and two TDs on 21 carries.

A&M’s 20 points were the most it has scored in the first quarter since Oct. 15, 2005 (Oklahoma State). It didn’t have a turnover or allow a sack vs. SMU. This is the first season since 1999 that the Aggies have started in the Top 10 of the polls.

The Idaho Vandals lost to Bowling Green in their opener before pounding FCS foe North Dakota 44-14 last week. Idaho quarterback Brian Reader threw for 299 yards and four touchdowns in that one. By comparison, the Vandals had only 280 total yards in that opening lost to BGSU.

This is the first game between Texas A&M and Idaho, but the Vandals are playing a Top-10 team for the fifth consecutive season. They lost to Nebraska and Boise State last year by a combined score of 90-31.
