Nov 24 NCAA Odds: No 20 Florida State vs Massachusetts

Massachusetts Minutemen is riding high after taking down ACC school and in-state rival Boston College 82-46 on Monday. But while the Eagles are in the middle of a roster overhaul, the Minutemen’s next ACC foe is nationally ranked and coming off a 41-point victory.

Massachusetts will see how it stacks up against No. 20 Florida State Seminoles when the schools meet in the inaugural Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in Nassau, Bahamas. The Seminoles were picked to finish third in the ACC behind North Carolina and Duke and have a chip on their shoulder after falling in the final seconds at the Sweet Sixteen last spring.

Florida State has beaten each of its first four opponents by at least 12 points but could get a battle from the Atlantic 10's Minutemen, who secured the largest margin of victory in the 45-game history of the rivalry with Boston College.

Massachusetts Minutemen (4-0): The Minutemen forced 23 turnovers in Monday’s drubbing of Boston College, scoring 28 points off the miscues. Chaz Williams, a sophomore transfer from Hofstra, led with 16 points and five assists despite sitting for large chunks of the second half. Williams is averaging 17.3 points and eight assists in the early going to help the Minutemen cover for the loss of guard Anthony Gurley - the lone departed senior from last season’s rotation.

Florida State Seminoles (4-0): Leonard Hamilton’s team starts out on the defensive end, where it has led the nation in limiting opponent’s field goal percentage each of the past two seasons. This year has been no different, with the Seminoles holding their first four foes to an average of 33 percent from the floor. Michael Snaer leads four scorers averaging in double figures at 11.8 points. Florida State crushed South Alabama, 80-39, its last time out.
