NCAA Baskteball Odds: Seton Hall Pirates at Dayton Flyers

Seton Hall Pirates will put its six-game win streak on the line in its first true road game when it takes on Dayton Flyers Wednesday at the University of Dayton Arena. The Pirates enter after an 80-77 overtime victory over Mercer, which capped off a six-game homestand.
Senior Herb Pope scored a game-high 24 points and had 17 rebounds for the Pirates. Meanwhile, the Flyers have won three in a row after defeating Florida International 61-40. Three players scored in double-figures for Dayton, which won by more than 20 points for the third time.

Seton Hall Pirates (9-1): Seton Hall, led by Pope and Jordan Theodore, averages 73 points and hasn’t lost since suffering an 80-73 defeat to Northwestern on Nov. 20. Pope has recorded a double-double in eight of his 10 starts and averages 22 points and 11 rebounds, which ranks sixth and fourth in the nation, respectively. As for Theodore, he averages 14 points and leads the team in assists with seven per game. Defensively, the Pirates have benefited from their length, especially around the 3-point line, where the team ranks 39th in 3-point field goal percentage against, holding opponents to 28 percent shooting.
Dayton Flyers (8-3): Three players average double figures for Dayton, including Kevin Dillard, who leads the team with 11 points per game. Josh Benson and Paul Williams average 10 points each for the Flyers, who average 15 assists. Dayton has been extremely efficient from the field, hitting 46 percent of its field-goal attempts. Benson, a junior, leads the team with a 64-percent shooting percentage. Defense has been an issue for the Flyers in each of their three losses, losing by an average margin of 17 points, but on the season, Dayton allows just 63 points per game.
1. Seton Hall’s six-game win streak is its second longest since the 2007-08 season. Its longest came in 2009-10, when the Pirates began the season 8-0 before losing to Temple.
2. Dayton is one of the better free-throw shooting teams in the nation and ranks 22nd, converting 75 percent of its attempts.
3. The Flyers have won nine of their last 10 games against BCS opponents.
