NCAA Baskteball Odds: Louisiana-Lafayette at Mississippi

Red-hot Ole Miss will try for its sixth straight victory when it hosts Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns Wednesday at C.M. Tad Smith Coliseum. The Mississippi Rebels, whose last defeat came in a 96-66 loss to Marquette on Nov. 20, have won three games by a combined seven points during the streak, one in overtime.

A win against Louisiana-Lafayette would give the Rebels their third 9-1 start since the 2007-08 season. The Ragin’ Cajuns, meanwhile, are 5-6 and have won two of three. Lafayette owns a 4-2 advantage in the series, with its victories coming in the 1980s and early '90s.

The Rebels have opened as 14-point favorites on SBG Global Sportsbook’s Live NCAA Basketball Odds.

Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns (5-6): The Ragin’ Cajuns scored a season-high 102 points in their victory over Dillard on Monday, led by Darshawn McClellan’s 18-point, 10-rebound effort. McClellan was one of six Ragin’ Cajuns who finished in double figures as the team shot 53 percent from the field. Louisiana-Lafayette has struggled on the road, posting an 0-4 record. In its most recent road outing, the Cajuns lost 80-63 against Lamar. Kadeem Coleby (11.4) and J.J. Thomas (10.1) are the only Cajuns who average 10 or more points.

Mississippi Rebels (8-1): Jelan Kendrick is expected to make his debut after sitting out a year since transferring from Memphis. Kendrick, a freshman guard, will be counted on to make an immediate impact for the Rebels, whose backcourt will benefit from having added depth. To this point, Ole Miss has performed just fine without him, winning five of its nine games by 10 or more points. That includes Saturday’s 80-56 victory over Mississippi Valley State, in which five players reached double figures.
