It all comes down to this for the Memphis Grizzlies and the Oklahoma City Thunder. The first Game 7 of the NBA playoffs is here, as Oklahoma City and Memphis face off on Sunday for the right to advance to face the Mavericks in the Western Conference finals.
It has been a grueling, back-and-forth series, with both teams answering the others attempt to pull away. Memphis knotted it up at three games apiece on Friday night by securing a 95-83 victory behind 30 points and 13 rebounds from Zach Randolph. The Grizzlies pulled off a huge upset by knocking off the top-seeded Spurs in the first round, and now are looking to keep their Cinderella story alive for another round.
Memphis has been very good against the spread this season at 60-33, although it is 3-3 in this series attempting to cover. Each time a team has won straight up in this series, it has also covered the spread. The Thunder is 48-42 against the spread on the year. Oklahoma City has been either a 6 or 7 point favorite in each home game against the Grizzlies in the postseason, so expect the spread to be close to that number for Game 7. The last time the Thunder was at home, it cruised to a 99-72 win over Memphis.
Kevin Durant struggled in Game 6, while Randolph excelled. Those are the best players on Oklahoma City and Memphis, respectively, so their performance will play into how this series turns out. The Grizzlies are not your typical No. 8 seed, as they have been quite formidable throughout the postseason. Dallas is waiting patiently after sweeping the Lakers in the other semifinal, but join in on 2011 NBA Playoffs basketball betting before we move on to the next round.
