NBA Odds: Huge Game 5’s in Three Series on Wednesday April 27
Wednesday, April 27, 2011
by BetUS.com
Online NBA Playoff betting handicappers should be ecstatic that three Game 5 contests are scheduled for Wednesday night.
All three series are at 3 to 1, with the biggest surprise being the Memphis versus San Antonio series where the underdog Grizzlies need only one more victory over the San Antonio Spurs to win the series. Keep reading for analysis of the Spurs versus Grizzlies game as well as the Philadelphia versus Miami and Denver versus Oklahoma City games.
NBA Playoffs Odds – April 27 Games
- Philadelphia 76’ers at Miami Heat
Where: Americna Airlines Arena, Miami, Florida
When: 7:00 pm EST
BetUS Sportsbook NBA Odds: Philadelphia +10 ½
Analysis: I have no doubt that the Miami Heat are going to win on the NBA Playoff moneyline odds on Tuesday night, but I do feel that 10 ½ points are just too many points to give up. The Heat has gone 5 and 2 against the spread in their last 7 games but failed straight up and ATS versus the 76’ers in Game 4 of this series. The 76’ers beat LeBron, D-Wade and company 86 to 82 in that Game 4. Now, the 76’ers figure to be difficult to too close the door on this Wednesday night.
Sure, Miami is the much better team and should have no trouble winning this first round playoff series, but Philly isn’t a bad team and maybe, just maybe, they found something in that Game 4 that will allow them to keep it close in Game 5 on April 27.
- Memphis Grizzlies at San Antonio Spurs
Where: AT&T Center, San Antonio, Texas
When: 8:30 pm EST
BetUS Sportsbook NBA Odds: Memphis +6 ½
Analysis: The Spurs pretty much giving up on the Memphis Grizzlies in this first round playoff series is somewhat alarming. Memphis has covered the NBA odds spread in every single one of these games including smacking the Spurs nasty-like in Game 4, 104 to 86. San Antonio is a big 6 ½ point favorite in Game 5. I believe that Memphis could close the door on the Spurs in Game 5 by beating San Antonio straight up.
Memphis’s starting 5 has been spectacular and their bench, in particular O.J. Mayo and Darrell Arthur, have helped to wear down the Spurs’ best players, Tim Duncan and Tony Parker. San Antonio is being outplayed. They don’t deserve to win the series, much less put away Memphis in Game 5 on Wednesday.
- Denver Nuggets at Oklahoma City Thunder
Where: Oklahoma City Arena, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
When: 9:30 pm EST
BetUS Sportsbook NBA Odds: Denver +10 ½
Analysis: Denver finally broke out with a victory in Game 4, 104 to 101, against the more highly touted Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder is 2-1-1 against the spread in the four games in this series. I still can’t get myself to give up the points and take Durant and Westbrook and the rest of OKC in Game 5 on Wednesday. The 6 ½ points is quite a bit when basketball handicappers are talking about two teams that can score over 100 points per game.
The Thunder will want to slow it down against Denver on Wednesday night in order to beat the Nuggets and to take the step to the second round of the playoffs. I see Denver keeping it close by running and gunning, and hitting shots, against the young Thunder. Denver to cover the online NBA odds is where I’m going in this contest.
