NBA Betting Odds: Game 5 for Philadelphia 76ers at Miami Heat

All eyes are focused on the Miami Heat’s "Big Three" during this year’s NBA playoffs, but the key to a championship may not be LeBron James, Dwyane Wade or Chris Bosh, it might be whoever is playing point guard. The Heat play Game 5 of their series with the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday.
The Miami Heat have a 3-1 lead over the Sixers after Sunday’s 86-82 loss. There’s no question Miami is a three-man team, but NBA betting fans have to wonder how far the club can go with that makeup. Point guard Mike Bibby is absolutely killing Miami, and if the Heat were playing a better opponent, this could be a very different series right now.
Bibby is just 6-for-27 in the series, including 4-for-19 from beyond the three-point line. Coach Erik Spoelstra claims he hasn’t lost faith in the veteran, but that’s hard to believe. Sunday’s loss is the perfect example of how this might bite Miami down the stretch. James and Wade were impressive, combining for 53 points. Bosh struggled, though, scoring just a dozen points.
The Heat are averaging 93.3 points per game in the series, with James (26.3 PPG), Wade (21.3 PPG) and Bosh (19.3 PPG) averaging over 70 percent of them. The next highest scorer is James Jones with just 7.3 points per game. Obviously, Miami has very little margin for error.
When one of the Big Three struggles, somebody else is supposed to step up. It certainly wasn’t Bibby, who went 0-for-6 en route to a scoreless evening. Bibby—and the rest of his teammates—aren’t expected to be world beaters, but they are expected to make a few shots. If this trend continues, one of the Eastern powers is going to have its way with Miami.
