The Chicago Bulls, who have 7/2 odds of winning the NBA championship, keep on winning despite locking up first place in the Eastern Conference. They’ll visit the red-hot New York Knicks on Tuesday’s NBA betting board.
Chicago (60-20, 49-30-1 ATS) is riding a seven-game winning streak, including a 102-99 win over the Orlando Magic on Sunday. That continues a string of dominance, as the Bulls are 19-2 in their past 21 games. They haven’t been very good against the spread, though, and are just 2-4 in their past six games against the NBA Lines.
Derrick Rose was his typically brilliant self against Orlando. The MVP candidate absolutely crushed the Magic, racking up 39 points and five assists. He was one of just three Bulls to score in double figures.
Carlos Boozer was one of the others, though he had just 12 points. Boozer has been terribly inconsistent during the second half of the season; he had 15 games with 20-plus points and 10-plus rebounds before February 5, but just two since then.
New York (42-38, 46-32-1 ATS) isn’t quite as hot as Chicago, but Knicks fans aren’t complaining. After a horrific 1-9 run, New York has bounced back to win seven consecutive games. The Knicks have been almost as dangerous against the spread in that span, going 6-1. The Knicks beat Indiana 110-109 on Sunday.
The winning streak is even more impressive considering Amar’e Stoudemire has missed the past two games with a minor ankle sprain. He could return Tuesday, though the team is being very cautious with the playoffs on the horizon.
Chicago and New York have split their past 10 games at five wins apiece. The Knicks have been better against the spread, though, covering seven of those 10 games. They’ve already played twice this season, with New York winning and covering both.
