NBA Basketball Betting: Futures Odds for 2011 12 Basketball Season

The Miami Heat and their Big Three came up short in their quest to win the championship this past season, taking a chunk out of the wallets of all those supporters who did any NBA Basketball Betting on them at the start of the campaign.
With all that talent still on the roster, though, the Heat have been pegged as the 5/2 favorites at Bodog Sportsbook to put it all together and win the NBA championship in 2012.
Had LeBron James not faltered in the NBA Finals we'd probably be talking about the Heat's chances of winning back-to-back titles. Instead, we're looking at the possibility of the Mavericks winning two championships in a row.
However, Dirk Nowitzki and company aren't even second on the NBA futures odds list right now – they're fifth at 10/1 odds at Bodog Sportsbook. Nowitzki has silenced his doubters, though, and proven that he can play on the big stage, so those odds likely won't get any worse.
Sitting between the Heat and the Mavericks on the title odds list right now are the Lakers (11/2), Bulls (6/1), and Thunder (15/2). Los Angeles and Oklahoma City were both bounced by the Mavs in this year's playoffs, while Chicago was handily dispatched by Miami in the Eastern Conference Finals.
And Los Angeles, of course, won't have Phil Jackson to guide the ship this season, as he retired and was replaced by Mike Brown.
The Boston Celtics round out the top tier of contenders at Bodog at 12/1 odds, with the Magic next at 22/1, the Knicks and Spurs at 25/1, and the Trail Blazers at 28/1. New York will get a full campaign from Carmelo Anthony in the upcoming season.
Looking for a long shot on the Bodog Sportsbook NBA championship futures? The Cavaliers, Pistons, Warriors, Bucks, T-Wolves, Kings, and Wizards are all at 100/1 odds right now, with the Raptors in the basement at 150/1 odds.
