College Hoops Betting Odds: UCLA at No 15 Michigan
Wednesday, November 23, 2011

After using a stifling defensive effort to take down No. 8 Memphis on Monday, No. 15 Michigan Wolverines let its guard down a bit on Tuesday. The Wolverines allowed No. 6 Duke to shoot 56 percent from the floor and fell 82-75 in the semifinals of the EA Sports Maui Invitational.
Tim Hardaway Jr. went scoreless in the first half and the Wolverines could not quite make it back from a big halftime deficit. Things get a bit easier in the consolation game Wednesday, as Michigan takes on struggling UCLA. The Bruins have yet to beat a Division I opponent and lost to No. 14 Kansas, 72-56, in the other semifinal.
UCLA Bruins is off to one of its worst starts in the program's storied history but showed some signs of life Tuesday, fighting back from a large deficit and giving the Jayhawks all they could handle until running out of gas.

The Wolverines have opened as 5.5-point favorites on SBG Global Sportsbook’s Live NCAA Basketball Odds.
UCLA Bruins (1-3): The Bruins fell behind, 43-26, at the half against Kansas. But after looking disinterested at times in the opening period, UCLA fought back within five points with under five minutes left. Senior guard Jerime Anderson scored 14 points and has 32 in the last two games, while sophomore swingman Tyler Lamb has totaled 30. Reeves Nelson, who was suspended last week for a violation of team rules, hit a pair of 3-pointers during the rally and is a valuable player up front.
Michigan Wolverines (4-1): The Wolverines were trying to avenge an NCAA Tournament loss to Duke and somehow forgot to lock down the perimeter defensively. Like the Bruins, Michigan came back from a big deficit to make it close but ultimately lost. Hardaway recovered to finish with a team-high 19 points, but the star Wolverine was freshman point guard Trey Burke, who collected 17 points and nine assists.
1. Michigan shot 21 of 34 (62 percent) in the second half Tuesday.
2. The Wolverines last played a consolation game in Hawaii in 1971, when they beat Villanova in the Rainbow Classic.
3. UCLA hit 57 percent (8 of 14) from 3-point range against Kansas after shooting 25 percent from long range in its first three games.
