Eleventh-ranked Xavier Musketeers, fresh off its 82-70 overtime victory at No. 19 Vanderbilt on Monday, returns home for a matchup against Purdue. The Boilermakers, meanwhile, are coming off a 76-65 victory over Miami (Fla.) in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

Purdue Boilermakers (7-1): The Boilermakers reloaded nicely after the graduation of All-Americans JaJuan Johnson and E'Twaun Moore, with their lone setback coming against No. 12 Alabama in Puerto Rico. Senior forward Robbie Hummel, who missed last season with a knee injury, has returned to lead the team with 19 points and 4.9 rebounds. Guard Ryne Smith (11.8 points, 50.9 percent 3-point shooting) and point guard Lewis Jackson (10.6 points, 4.4 assists) form a solid veteran backcourt.
Xavier Musketeers (5-0): The Musketeers are off to their second-best start in 14 years thanks largely to the outstanding play of point guard Tu Holloway (17.3 points, 5.3 assists, 2.3 steals). The preseason All-American has plenty of help, however, including junior guard Mark Lyons (the team's top scorer at 18.0) and senior center Kenny Frease (9.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.0 blocks). Xavier is outrebounding opponents by 7.6 per game and ranks eighth nationally with 42.4 boards.
1. Purdue leads the series 9-4, but Xavier has won the last three meetings, including a second-round victory in the 2008 NCAA Tournament.
2. Xavier has won five consecutive games against Big Ten teams dating back to 2007, with all five games played on neutral courts.
3. The Boilermakers lead the Big Ten with 26 road wins since the start of the 2007-08 season.
