Bodog Poker Pro David Williams Wins WPT World Championship

Bodog Poker Pro David Williams can now add the title of WPT World Champion to his list of accomplishments.
Williams entered the WPT World Championship final table on Sunday night tied for the chip lead with David Benyamine and then took the chip lead on the 28th hand of play. (Benyamine ended up finishing third, however, but it was Eric Baldwin who took Williams to the final hand.) It wasn't until Hand #106 that Williams would give up that lead, but then for the remaining 30 hands he was pretty much the man to beat.
Here's how Hand #136 played out:
William raises to 500,000 and Baldwin goes all in for 4,765,000. Williams calls with 2 of clubs & 2 of diamonds, Baldwin shows ace of hearts, five of hearts. The flop comes ace of diamonds, seven of clubs, six of spades. The turn card is a two of hearts (and the river card is a four of clubs).
And just like that, David Williams wins the WPT World Championship, a sweet $1,530,537, a WPT bracelet, PLUS a watch from Bellagio!
"Yeah, it's pretty awesome," Williams said after the big win. "I told everyone I know to come down and watch because I knew I was going to win."
Eric Baldwin had an impressive cheering section, but with Williams' mom and friends on hand to watch, there was no way he was going to lose.
"I told everyone 'I'm going to win today' and I wanted everyone to experience the win with me," Williams added. "I ran really well. I played to the best of my abilities."
